Passionate Lives – Music and Spirtuality

Most of us are raised by parents who discourage us from stepping out on the ledge and being true to our unique gifts. More likely we are encouraged to stay close and be like the “tribe”.

We are all born creative and passionate; however, we are generally subdued under layers of conditioning, to the extent that by adulthood we are pale versions of our potential.

When you hear the phrase “the Shadow” what does it conjure up for you? The tendency is to see it as the dark side of human nature, “not us” but “them.” It is part of us. What if we reframed “the Shadow” and claimed the unknown part of us with curiosity and a willingness to befriend that “dark side” which often rears its head when we least expect it.

Obstacles to Manifestation – What Do You Really Want?

”I always wanted to be somebody, but I should have been more specific!” – Lilly Tomlin
It is difficult if not impossible to have a full meaningful life if we do not know what we really, really want. We may present ourselves as knowing, however often it is a glib statement voiced without reflection. “I want this”, “I wish I could do that” and “As soon as this is over I will do…(fill in the blanks)”. Underneath such vagueness is the fact that many people have not examined their dreams and desires in order to know what they truly desire.

Archetypes - Symbolic Messages from the Soul

Archetype, a term brought into use by the Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, refers to broad patterns of human behavior that are familiar to us all. Examples of archetypes that have come into our vernacular include the inner child, the victim, the addict, and the hero. As the term implies, an archetype is an overarching template for understanding different roles and energies we engage in throughout life. Archetypes are so much a part of us they often tend to be unconscious.
